Week 1 Day 1
I'll make no elaborate claims that I'm the best at poker or that I'm even on a professional level. However, what I have is a dream and the courage to chase it. This is how I see it, I can wake up every day and work the nine to five grind, or I can go out and grind in a poker room. The fact of the matter is that life is a grind, and whether your working a nine to five, or playing poker you've got to grind it out to make your money.
My life right now is not great, but I have my health, a roof over my head and people I love. I have a 4 month old daughter and girlfriend to support. To try and do that I have a nine to five job that pays well, but not enough to move us into our own house and insure that our financial worries are satisfied. With that in mind I've decided to use poker as a way to make some extra income and eventually become my soul occupation.
This blog is here to track my progress and set backs so that anyone else who is out there considering making the same move I'm about too, will be able to have some extra insight before hand. My goal is to keep a record of everywhere I play, at what level and what my profits or losses are. Hopefully I'll be showing consistent profits over all, but if I do have to show loses, this will help me to better understand why they are happening.
The reason I'm deciding to start the blog today is I sat down and read Doyle Brunson's Super System 2 - A Course in Power Poker by Doyle Brunson last night, and I would recommend it to anyone who is considering playing poker at any level. With this new arsenal of poker tactics I'm going to step into the poker room and put my money on the felt.
